The Queens Jubilee

Poems created by local young people in Tendring

Poems written by local young people will go on display at Clacton rail station to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.

The poems have been written by young people from CCA with the support of UTurn.

The poems have been reproduced as posters by the Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership as part of the town’s Jubilee celebrations.

The Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership also recently hosted young people from UTurn at a ‘Try A Train’ event at Clacton station where they received a rail safety talk and a look round one of Greater Anglia’s new trains, including in the driver’s cab.

Jayne Sumner, the Community Rail Partnership’s Engagement Manager, said, “We were just blown away when we read these wonderful poems and I know people passing through Clacton station are going to love them – I think the Queen would too!

“The children and young people involved in this project should feel very proud of their work which is going to be a lovely addition to Clacton’s Jubilee celebrations.”
