SCHOOL PROJECTS & PROGRAMMES
How School Programme Referrals Work
For most school projects and programmes, UTurn will agree the delivery with the school first. The school then selects the young people it wishes to refer.
The school remains our main contact and is responsible for obtaining the appropriate parent/carer permissions and providing the information needed for each young person to take part safely.
No separate full registration is normally needed: young people attending only an agreed school mentoring programme are covered by the school referral information unless UTurn asks for anything further. A full registration will be needed if they also join UTurn clubs, Holiday Club, trips or other activities outside the agreed programme.
BEFORE YOU REFER
A Few Things to Know
Permissions
The referring school or organisation should have the appropriate permissions in place before submitting a referral.
Relevant Information
Please include information that may affect how we support the young person safely, including relevant medical, additional-needs or safeguarding information.
Referral Review
Submitting a referral does not automatically confirm a place or service. The UTurn team will review the information provided.
NEED HELP?
Need Help With a Referral?
If you are unsure which referral route to use or would like to discuss a referral before submitting it, contact the UTurn team.
UTurn is not an emergency service. If a young person is in immediate danger, call 999.
