As a UTurn volunteer you can:

Ways you can volunteer
We have a range of roles to suit different interests and time commitments, including:
- Supporting sessions at the UTurn Hub
- Helping with trips, events and activities
- Providing 1:1 mentoring (with full training and support)
- Offering support in the office, fundraising or communications
You don’t need specific qualifications for most roles – just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
What we’re looking for
We particularly value:
- Reliability and good communication
- The ability to listen and relate to young people
- Being non-judgemental, patient and understanding
- A positive, supportive attitude and openness to learning
All volunteers receive an induction, training relevant to their role and regular support.
Work experience & volunteering for young people
If you’re aged 14–17, we offer volunteering and work experience opportunities. These can help you:
- Gain skills and experience for college, apprenticeships or future jobs
- Grow in confidence and independence
- Give something back to your community
