Volunteers
At UTurn, our greatest strength is our people.
Our team of staff, sessional workers and volunteers bring a mix of professional experience, lived experience and local knowledge – all with one shared goal: helping young people feel safe, supported and hopeful.
All staff and volunteers are DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding and professional boundaries.
Our Staff
Our staff team includes youth workers, mentors, project leads and support staff who:
- Build trusted relationships with young people and families
- Design and deliver projects, workshops and activities
- Work closely with schools and partner agencies
- Make sure our hub is a welcoming, safe and inclusive space
Our Volunteers
We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. They:
- Support activities at the hub and in the community
- Offer 1:1 mentoring and group support (with training and supervision)
- Help with events, fundraising and practical tasks
- Bring energy, skills and life experience that young people can relate to
